We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and motivated Load Coordinator / OTR Dispatcher to join our team in Leesburg, Florida. The ideal candidate understands trucking operations, manages multiple priorities, communicates effectively, and takes ownership of daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and dispatch OTR drivers for efficient, on-time deliveries.
- Plan, schedule, and optimize routes to maximize equipment utilization and profitability.
- Monitor truck, trailer, and load locations throughout the day.
- Communicate with drivers regarding instructions, schedules, delays, and operational needs.
- Review daily and weekly load plans and make adjustments as necessary.
- Coordinate pickup and delivery appointments with customers and facilities.
- Track driver availability, hours of service, and equipment availability.
- Resolve scheduling conflicts, delays, and service issues.
- Maintain accurate dispatch records and update transportation management software.
- Maintain strong relationships with drivers, customers, and internal departments.
- Monitor freight trends, identify loads, and help source new freight opportunities.
- Minimize empty miles and downtime while maximizing revenue per truck.
- Perform additional operational duties as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of OTR dispatching experience required.
- Liquid bulk or tanker transportation experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of OTR trucking operations, equipment, and driver scheduling.
- Understanding of DOT regulations and hours-of-service requirements.
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and email.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and solve problems quickly.
- Highly organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Professional communication with drivers, customers, and coworkers.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Starting at $50,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
- Full-time Monday–Friday schedule; weekly direct deposit.
- Paid holidays and sick pay after 90 days.
- Paid vacation after one year of employment.
